Originally I did this painting for our commercial art company Blue Genie Art as a 16′ backdrop for a Marty Stuart video. In the original, a raven was superimposed over the backdrop.
I was so fascinated by the original composition that I wanted to create another, more complete painting, I tried to imbue the composition with a living palpable sorrow.
